Chen Wen’s passion for mental health was discovered the day she volunteered for Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA), a local mental health organisation. Uncovering the persistent, heavy stigma revolving around mental health, she decided to delve deeper into understanding the common issues and challenges faced by the patients and ways to provide the psychological support they needed. With curiosity and compassion, it landed her on the path of becoming a clinical psychologist.
She completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with HELP University, was trained under supervisors who specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She did her training at the Centre for Psychological and Counselling Services (CPCS), a university psychological center, and Serene Psychological Services, a private center located in KL. She offered psychological assessments for children and adults as well as individual therapy for children and mostly adults. She then received further training under the
supervision of an ACT-specialised therapist and has since then been using ACT as her primary approach, supplemented by attachment-based therapy to work with clients who have been through childhood and family trauma.
Chen Wen greets everyone who comes through her doorstep with the warmest welcome, genuineness and care. She learns that two key ingredients that foster great connections between people are curiosity and compassion. She believes that everyone has a story to tell, she seeks to listen to find out what the plot is about. She helps them to uncover the areas that they might have overlooked, which may seem to be irrelevant but it may eventually become the central point that their story revolves around.
She believes that compassion is a powerful tool. When we start to show compassion to ourselves, we can see the world with more color and shades. We can then make more room for acceptance and growth for ourselves, which can be extended to others. Ultimately we want to create a community where we can feel safe, trusted and connected.

她也接着在⼤学⼼理和咨询服务中⼼ (Centre for Psychological and Counselling Services, CPCS) 以及位于吉隆坡的私⼈中⼼ Serene Psychology Services 接受了培训。
